A seasoned geologist with ten years of industry experience spanning multiple commodity types and locations. He possesses a Master's in Geoscience from Montana Tech and a Bachelor's in Geology from Fort Lewis College. He has led mining projects with both major and minor mining companies across the North American Cordillera. He is experienced in leading exploration projects, production in both underground and pit settings, development of QA/QC programs, and leadership of teams of various sizes. His academic career is punctuated by multiple publications and conference presentations.

Strong experience in underground hard rock mining, served in a production role prior to joining CGI. Strong experience in interpreting historical survey,  engineering, and geological reports for their use in modern projects and with the SMES process. John Bailey is a field-oriented geologist with over five years of experience. He holds master’s degree in geology from the University of New Mexico, where he specialized in structural geology. Bailey has experience across all stages of exploration, from open-pit to early-stage, with expertise in various deposit types and commodities, including metals and industrial minerals. He has strong experience in all phases of diamond core drilling, geologic mapping, GIS, field program management, technical writing, and structural analysis. Bilingual in Spanish, Bailey is passionate about the various locations geology has taken him and the opportunities ahead.
