Childs Geoscience Inc. (CGI) was contracted by Barton International to conduct a global search for garnet resources. A noteworthy accomplishment was the successful identification of a world-class marine strandline deposit containing ilmenite, garnet, and rare earths on the west coast of New Zealand. The heavy mineral deposit was eventually developed by Hardie Pacific and is currently shipping to world markets. The same global study included innovative approaches to community relations, split estate negotiations, by-product investigations, and identification of ranked opportunities for future evaluation.  John Childs and his team demonstrated superior geological knowledge, research capabilities, and confidentiality.
